VideoPsalm

VideoPsalm version 1.14 is now available to download

4/20/2014

This new version is compatible (as always) with any of its previous versions.
New features of version 1.14 will be described in future blog posts.

The setup download time should be faster than for previous versions, due to the fact that the file is now stored on a faster server (thank you Étienne for providing for this new server!).

Microsoft Windows Smartscreen
Like some of you have experienced in the past, your PC may warn you against installing VideoPsalm, because this is a new download, unknown by Microsoft.
Until this new setup is downloaded and installed a few times (I ignore the specifics, how many times, etc.), you may see the following warning (here in French) when trying to install VideoPsalm:

Click on the “More information” highlighted text, which will issue another warning:

Confirm with the “Start anyway” button.
This will allow the launch of the VideoPsalm setup:

Installation notes
You can install VideoPsalm over any existing installation without needing to de-install it fist.
Also note that re-installing VideoPsalm will not overwrite or delete your songbooks, Bibles, or any other file.

The same is true if you de-install VideoPsalm: this will not delete your songbooks and Bibles or any other documents.

If you want to permanently delete your songbooks, Bibles, images, videos, etc., remove them manually from their folder located here:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\VideoPsalm

In case of any difficulties, please use the contact form.

There are several places from where you can edit the footer and header content:

3. From within the style explorer, where you can additionally set the header and footer at any style level (not only at the “Songbooks” style level).

How to display the song title in the header instead of in the footer
By default, the song title is displayed in the footer, at the bottom.
To display the song title in the header, simply swap the footer and header text templates.
If necessary, you can add-in some free text and mix it with predefined fields.

To remove the header or footer content, select the “Delete all fields” entry, or type-in a blank in the text box:

Predefined fields
VideoPsalm recognizes a wide range of predefined fields, and replaces them by their value when it displays a slide.

For example, if the template contains the field [Song title], VideoPsalm will replace this field with the song title when displaying a song verse slide.

Use the field drop-down list to add a predefined field, so that you don't need to type-it in yourself.

If you prefer to type-in the predefined fields, make sure that you do it without any spelling mistake or casing error, or else the text will be considered as plain text by VideoPsalm and displayed as such.
